Hotsource is your one stop shop for all things music. Musicians, fans and venues - sign up now!
Hotsource.com.au is the brain-child of Wendy Lloyd Curley and Susan Stanbridge, one Aussie and one Yank with a common love of music and a desire to wake up most mornings and say "Yeh, I’m off to work and I love it".
It is also the result of 2 very hard-working operations people Sonia Ellis and Helen Young. Sonia and Helen update the Gig Guide and help to write and edit articles.
Joanne (Jo-Jo) Baxter joined the Hotsource team in 2006. Jo is the best music event manager in the business, an ace photographer, does gig reviews and, with respect to the great Glenn A Baker, is our very own walking music encyclopaedia. Jo has a passion for mentoring young bands, and is very active with finding ways for them to be seen and be heard.
Wendy Lloyd Curley is a co-founder and director of Hotsource. She creates and executes solid business strategies for businesses large and small - even for the individual. Wendy runs 3 businesses in addition to Hotsource - her own musical career, selling (and burning) PartyLite candles, and designing innovative wine displays. She is also a specialist speaker on music marketing and social networking and is commissioned by music education outlets to wax lyrical about how to actually make money in this business.
Wendy is the chief writer and editor for Hotsource. She consults to businesses in growth strategies and presents on a variety of topics regarding the Australian music industry. She spends her vast leisure time with her husband, her golden retriever, her friends, and her guitars (mostly practicing barre chords). Oh - and she's been a full-member of the Sydney Swans since 2001 - so in footy season, please plan your gigs and rehearsals around home games.
Wendy's written her condensed autobiography for your entertainment. G'won - have a giggle - click here.
Susan (Sue) Stanbridge is a co-founder and director of Hotsource. She has spent longer than she can remember, developing lead generation and database marketing campaigns. She is a keen believer that a good database is an essential sales tool. The more its members are profiled and segmented, the greater the networking opportunities, and hence benefits to those members.
Sue manages the data and creative strategies for Hotsource. She consults to various artists on promotion and management. She considers her work, her leisure, but at other times enjoys a good Pump class, yoga and disappears every Winter to the Northern Hemisphere to enjoy an extended Summer! Sue has written a condensed autobiography for your entertainment and interest. Click here to read it.
Not only is Sonia a shareholder in Hotsource, she is a researcher and editor for the site. She brings with her varied experiences. From being a musician in her early teens, then a young mum raising a family before returning to the workforce, she never lost her instinctive connection to music. She has also performed in financial and organisational roles in her adult career. Her passion for music is shared by her partner Paul, who has also spent time playing in bands and gigging. And when they have time, they love nothing more than rockin’ up their living room on a Friday night and getting down to what they love most – jammin’!
Sonia comes from a line of musos. Mum & Dad were talented swing band players in the 50’s & 60’s and brothers Stan (Crushed Ice) and Stacey Morris (Country Music Artist) have forged full time careers in the industry. Musical influence has also travelled along the family vein to Sonia’s children, who are also driven by a love of music and are actively participating in their favoured genres. “It’s a blood-line you just can’t stop” says Sonia and if I can be lucky enough to do this for a living – Fantastic! I love this site, it’s for everybody, and there’s no other like it. So get on board all you would bees, wanna bees and will bees, ‘cause at Hotsource – It’s all about you!
Helen is a shareholder in Hotsource. She has owned 2 successful companies in the Hospitality industry and is also experienced in the planning and implementation of major events.
She is a political script-writer, and with Sonia, researches and edits the site. Her attention to detail is one of the reasons the Hotsource directory contains exceptionally clean data.
Helen loves music, and with her partner Trevor, spends her leisure time updating databases for the Hotsource site - go figure! Here's a great overview of everything Helen!
Without TechFlare, Hotsource would still just be just a bunch of PowerPoint slides and a vision. TechFlare is a group of guys in Parramatta who probably cringe whenever they get a call or a message from Hotsource. But they've been fantastic and without their hard work and perseverance we wouldn't have been able to have this great website.
So to Jase, and Sean, Lloyd and Geoff. Thank you. TechFlare Solutions
