A DEATH IN THE FAMILY @ HQ Skate Park - Sunday, 7 December 2008

Emerging in 2004 from Melbourne’s independent punk / hardcore scene and inspired by the spirit and drive of bands like Hot Water Music, Jawbreaker and Against Me!, A Death In The Family have succeeded in breathing life and excitement into an often tired and generic punk rock sound. Their debut album "This Microscopic War" was released in 2006 on Poison City Records, and as a precursor to it's follow up, due out in February 2009, this December Resist will release “This Microscopic War” on vinyl, this being the first time on vinyl format. Pre orders for limited edition coloured vinyl will commence on Oct 13, with a release date of Dec 6.

The Black Keys @ HQ Skate Park - Tuesday, 30 December 2008

LOVE POLICE and BILLIONS AUSTRALIA have extreme joy to announce some very special shows featuring their good friends, THE BLACK KEYS, GOMEZ and DR. DOG sharing the same rockin' stage. Prior to, and sliding off the back of the New Year’s festivals, the bands will join forces in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney's Luna Park and finishing up at the recently revamped Palais Theatre in Melbourne.
THE BLACK KEYS will also be performing select and special shows in Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Coffs Harbour and Wollongong to get the summer holiday hot spots truly shaking. The band has treated regional fans to their sounds from their first tour, and it is time to celebrate. All shows except Coffs Harbour and Wollongong will feature DR.DOG
THE BLACK KEYS are beloved in this country. Tearing up our highways and flight paths since 2003, the band has gone from small clubs to selling out theatres and large rooms from Darwin to Hobart. Their dirty rock and soul sound has won them a loyal and passionate audience that continues to grow. Five albums into their career, these show will be the defining moment of their local career so far. Expect grandeur, expect electricity, expect the sweetest garage sounds you have ever heard on the big stage.
