Following two weeks of online voting by music fans, Jack Daniel’s is excited to announce that owning stages with FAKER on the second tour of THE JD SET (www.thejdset.com.au) for 2009 are Melbourne rockers BRITTLE and STARTING SUNDAY! Well done Melbourne!

The second tour of THE JD SET in 2009 will start Thursday, 6 August at The Prince Bandroom in Melbourne before jetting to Sydney on Friday, 7 August to play The Metro and then, in keeping with the tradition of Jack taking the tour bus to audiences further a field, the bands will head up to Townsville to play The Club at James Cook University on Saturday, 8 August. To make the promise of showcasing some of the country’s finest new live talent in some of the country’s favourite venues even more appealing, Jack Daniel’s will continue to keep the policy of NO DOOR CHARGE!

Releasing their debut album this year BRITTLE are a band to keep an eye on. They are just as stoked as Jack Daniel’s are to be touring with FAKER, “As a band it is important to connect with new audiences all the time. We have been touring around the country for a little while now and we always take away a new experience. Faker have the ability to put on a great show and with hard work have been able to gain the respect of the industry and their fans alike. It is an exciting time to be on the road and every show for us is an experience and learning curve.”

Having introduced their new line-up earlier this year, STARTING SUNDAY have recently unleashed their self-titled EP and are stoked to be touring on The JD Set. Lead singer/guitarist, Rhys Thompson, says it best, “Being part of larger scale shows and tours such as The JD Set is an amazing learning experience which we're excited about. There will obviously be a lot to learn from Faker, it is one thing to put on a great show, but it is a whole other skill to be able to back it up night after night, whilst moving from city to city, with flights, long drives and hours upon hours of waiting around. We are beyond ecstatic to be given this opportunity. To play alongside Faker, to play to packed houses at some of Australia’s best venues and to have a sneaky couple of Jack’s along the way, is a dream come true. We’re excited as anything and can’t wait until we hit the stage early August.”

Coming off the back of a huge support tour with arguably one of the biggest pop acts Pink, Nathan from FAKER says the band “Were drawn to doing the JD Set as we feel it enables us to give something back to the music community. We’re really glad to be able to help give a leg up to new emerging artists.”

Jack Daniel’s is continuing to support the strength and growth of the Australia live music scene through THE JD SET. Giving music fans across the country the opportunity to experience some of the best and freshest live talent that Australia has to offer!

A key element of THE JD SET will be involvement with Support Act Limited (SAL) Australia’s Music Industry Benevolent Fund which provides relief and assistance to members of the Australian music industry in need or suffering hardship.
