Never has the title of this article been more appropriate than for this month’s featured band Transit-Inc and their song “I’m Sown”. HotPick? You are going to need a flame retardant suit, oven mitts, and tongs to handle this blistering tune!
If any band about to explode on the Sydney scene has got the goods, it’s Transit-Inc. The electro funk rock trio (Tony Cass - Vocals and Bass, Mark Cass - Drums and Rob Russ - Guitars) has been steadily working on their full length debut CD for nearly two years, and this track is just a hint of the incredible power this band is about to unleash on an unsuspecting city.

The bass line snakily coils up around you and a synthesizer hums a prelude to take off. The unearthly echo delayed melodies of the guitar envelope you and lift you dreamily from your chair while the rhythm moves your feet. I think you’ll find your hips swaying soon with your arms arcing over your head in some quasi-spiritual ghost dance, when the chorus suddenly detonates and hurtles you to the stratosphere!
A hypnotic track that alternates between ethereal and hyperdrive with a kinetic electro elevation at its core, this song doesn’t just rock but rocks you along with it. Already, a growing Internet presence has fans calling from Canada and the US, and serious attention from numerous record labels salivating to hear the new album, due for completion in March. “I’m Sown” is already a hit with the voting masses, garnering a place in the Top Ten for Rock in the 2007 Music Oz Awards.
