Singing the Praises of a Local Talent

Amy Cushway has been winning hearts and awards whilst lyrically lifting the ears of strangers in her initial solo gigs.

With a mere eight solo shows under her belt, Amy Cushway has received a peoples choice award from Gold Coast Music Industry Association, a finals birth at the Byron Beach Hotel acoustic competition and numerous support offerings.

This young solo female acoustic guitarist looks set for great things with some of Australia’s major record labels’ nipping at her heals and growing support from community (4ZzZ) and commercial radio (Sea FM) stations.

With the major record companies primarily based in the southern states, Amy is focused on touring down south later in the year to gain a more direct music industry connection.

For the moment however, I have started to build a local following and I want to support the people who support me, says Amy who is playing the Sheoak Shack located at Fingal this Saturday Night 17th May.

“It’s a local Fingal Café/Gallery that you can directly connect with your audience, the real live experience.” says Amy.

This audience connection has seen Amy Cushway receive continuous positive feedback from not only her live audiences but cyber listeners as well.

“My myspace fan base has grown dramatically in the past 3 months and has even lead to me being offered a support by Brianna Carpenter (former Australian Idol)”.

Brianna had what she described as a luckless search to find a quality acoustic act to perform with, until the discovery of Amy Cushway via her myspace website.

Amy Cushway and Brianna Carpenter will be performing at the Globe Niteclub in Brisbane on 6th June, with doors opening at 8pm and tickets $10 from the door. Amy Cushway will then follow on with a second consecutive night in Brisbane by performing at the Red Brick Hotel.
