This review was submitted by Thea Keeling. I think it furthers the Hotsource belief that "live" music takes you to greater heights than just listening can ever do. GET OUT THERE!

A great review -Thanks Thea!

Have you ever felt like you have just witnessed the next big thing? Have you ever wondered what music would sound like if Pink Floyd and Panic at the Disco had a baby who graduated from the Con? Have your fingers ever trembled and your particles felt weak? Have you ever heard music broken down into its purest essence and delivered in the rawest form of (unadulterated) rock and roll? I have. I saw The Cold Comfort, a Sydney based band, headline at Fisho’s in Manly, on Saturday May 10, 2008.

From power chords and hardcore drums to a symphonic electric cello and the bluesy banter between trumpet and saxophone, with the rest of the crowd, I was completely blown away!

Was the defining point of witnessing The Cold Comfort the pure brilliance of their musicality? Or was it the effortless execution of their entire act? Either way, thank God they were headlining, because no-one should have to follow them. Nothing on my itunes compares to this! Influenced by a diverse range of artists - from King Crimson and Muse to Andrew Lloyd Weber - their ultimate objective was to provide an art that covers the whole spectrum of sensory experiences when performing live, and my God did they do it!

Have you ever wanted to feel like nothing else in the world matters? The Cold Comfort can be seen next competing in Sydney University’s band competition on May 27th, and if I were you, I wouldn’t miss it!
